The Northeast Ohio FIRST Robotics Alliance formed in the summer of 2007. Our collaborative mission is to share team knowledge, best practices, and engineering/sponsor resources among our NEOFRA teams, and to unite our efforts to create and sustain more FIRST programs locally. Our teams recognize the extreme risks of "going it alone" and understand the importance of working together, both to elevate our individual programs and to improve our collective sustainability.

Since our inception, numerous FRC high school teams and numerous FLL teams have started up in our region. Veteran NEOFRA teams work together to guide these teams toward establishing a solid, self-sustaining foundation for themselves. Recognizing that it's more fun for all if we promote FIRST, share knowledge, and play together, we also hold regular multi-team public demonstrations, arrange combined training workshops, and participate in joint recreational activities.

Numerous Ohio FLL qualifying regionals, an Ohio FLL district championship, a fall FRC offseason event, and the WOW (Western PA - Ohio - West Virginia) Championship have all been hosted by NEOFRA venues over the years. NEOFRA team members collaboratively plan and host these events for the benefit of the FIRST community.

Collaboration among teams simply works in a number of fun and constructive ways, and in these increasingly challenging times, it is even more important for teams to stick together and help each other out. We emphatically encourage all FIRST teams to weave their own collaborative support networks in their regions. Please contact us if you're looking for ideas on how to get started.
