Welcome to the home of NEOFRA, the Northeast Ohio FIRST Robotics Alliance, a partnership of FIRST robotics teams in the Youngstown-Warren, Ohio region.
Our member FRC teams hold many fundraisers throughout the year in support of their robotics programs. We post notice of these events to our NEOFRA Calendar. Teams have numerous events scheduled in the coming months. Feel free to click the Calendar link and check them out!
The 2019 Mahoning Valley Robotics Challenge is scheduled for Saturday September 21st, 2019 at Warren G. Harding High School in Warren, OH. Team Registration is closed, but Volunteer Registration is still OPEN. Click here for more MVRC information!
NEOFRA teams design and build robots to compete in one of four different levels of yearly robotics competitions facilitated by the non-profit FIRST organization.
Our shared mission "is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership."
NEOFRA will once again host a charity food drive at the 2019 MVRC to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Teams and spectators may donate food in support of this great cause! Stay tuned for more details on how you may contribute.
NEOFRA is proud to support the OH WOW! Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology's Silly Science Sunday every year in September. Look for NEOFRA FIRST Steamworks FRC robots demonstrating at this year's event on Sunday September 17th!
NEOFRA would like to thank the Art Outreach Gallery at the Eastwood Mall in Niles for their long-time partnership with us, serving as our non-profit fiscal agent. In addition to their financial services, the AOG has promoted FIRST and NEOFRA ideals by hosting FIRST LEGO League teams, displaying local FRC robots in their gallery windows, and co-planning numerous robotics demonstrations and other FIRST-related events at the mall. We invite you to visit the Art Outreach Gallery Art Outreach Gallery to learn about all the great things they do for the local community.
NEOFRA formed in the summer of 2007. Our collaborative mission is to share team knowledge, best practices, and engineering resources among our NEOFRA teams, and to unite our efforts to create and sustain more FIRST programs locally. Our teams recognize the extreme risks of "going it alone" and understand the importance of working together, both to elevate our individual programs and to improve our collective sustainability.
